Ingredients
2 C. self rising flour
1/4 C. lard or shortening
buttermilk
6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 lb. sausage, cooked
5 large eggs, scrambled
1 C. country gravy mix, prepared according to pkg. directions
1/2 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
How To Make It
Add the flour to a bowl and cut in the lard with a pastry blender or two forks. Stir in just enough buttermilk to form a soft, not sticky, dough. Grease a 10" iron skillet with lard or shortening and then turn the dough out in the center of the skillet. With floured hands, spread it out to cover the bottom and go up the sides just a little. Place the skillet in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes. Remove and top with the prepared gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs and cheese. Return to the oven for 5-6 minutes to melt the cheese and warm the toppings.
