Red Capsicum Chutney


Capsicum chutney is a tasty chutney and nutritious. When the same is prepared using the red capsicum, the colour of the chutney is so appetizing. You can have this chutney with any kind of Idli or dosa.



Ingredients
Red Capsicum – 2
Onion – 1
Garlic – 3
Tomato – 2
Dry Red Chillies – 3
Cumin seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Green Chilli – 1
Channa dhal – 2 Teaspoons
Oil – 2 Teaspoons
Urad dhal – 1 Teaspoon
Mustard seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Salt to taste

Method
1 Cut the Onion, Tomatoes and red capsicums into cubes and keep it aside.
2 Heat a teaspoon of oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds, red chillies, green chilli and garlic pods.


3 Once it becomes crisp, add the channa dhal and roast until it turns golden brown.


4 Add the onions and stir it tills it becomes translucent.



5 Now add the cut tomato and cook for a minute.



6 Then add the red capsicum and enough salt. Cook for 2 minutes and switch off the flame.


7 Allow this mixture to cool down.
8 Now grind them to a fine paste in the blender.


9 Transfer this to a bowl.
10 For the tempering, heat oil in a small pan, add the mustard seeds and urad dhal.
11 Once the mustard seeds splutter, add the curry leaves and switch off the flame.


12 Add this to the chutney in the bowl and serve it with Idli or dosa.
